Do I need a custom plugin, or does one already exist?
Often one already exists, and we’ll tell you — buying a well-maintained plugin is usually cheaper than commissioning one. Custom pays off when your requirement is genuinely specific, or when the off-the-shelf option fights you at every turn.
Will it survive WordPress updates?
That’s the point of building it properly. We use documented hooks and APIs rather than editing core or plugin files, so updates don’t undo the work.
Who owns the code?
You do. You get the source, and it’s yours to keep, modify, or hand to another developer.
Can you extend a plugin we already bought?
Usually yes, through its hooks and filters — that keeps your changes intact when the vendor ships an update. If it exposes no hooks at all, we’ll say so and set out the alternatives honestly.
Do you maintain it afterwards?
If you want us to. Otherwise it’s documented well enough for your own team to pick up.
